Bringing Healthcare Closer to Rural Communities
Sri Rajabhagawathi Sarvasakthi Peetam believes that spirituality and social service go hand in hand. Along with its spiritual and cultural activities, the Peetam is committed to contributing to the health and well-being of underserved communities.
Many people living in rural areas, particularly economically disadvantaged families, senior citizens, women and children, face difficulties in accessing timely and quality healthcare.
To support such communities, the Peetam undertakes Free Eye Care Camps and Free General Medical Service Camps in rural and underserved areas.
👁️ Free Eye Care Camps
The Free Eye Care initiative aims to promote awareness about eye health and provide basic eye screening and medical guidance to people who may otherwise have limited access to eye-care services.
Depending on the nature of each camp, services may include:
- Free eye screening and vision assessment
- Identification of common vision problems
- Basic consultation and medical guidance
- Eye-health awareness and preventive guidance
- Guidance for further treatment when required
- Support for spectacles for eligible beneficiaries, wherever possible
- Referral and guidance for cataract and other conditions requiring specialized treatment
The camps are conducted with the support and participation of qualified medical professionals and healthcare institutions.

The Peetam also organizes free general medical camps to address basic healthcare needs in rural communities.
Depending on the camp, services may include:
- General health check-ups
- Basic health assessments
- Medical consultation and guidance

- Women's and children's health awareness
- Basic health guidance for senior citizens
- Guidance on accessing appropriate government and specialized healthcare services
